CATERING FAQs
Wondering what our catering kits are all about? Check out our FAQs.
Still wondering? Send us an email and we'll sort ya out.
How far in advance do I need to place a catering kit order?
All catering orders require a lead time of 4 hours.
What kit sizes are available, and how many people does each serve?
We build single kits that can feed 10-15 people or 20-25 people. For larger groups, order multiple boxes.
How do I place an order?
For delivery: place your order online.
For pick up: place your order in store, via phone, or online.
Is a deposit required, and what's your cancellation policy?
Full payment is required at the time of ordering, unless agreed otherwise via phone.
What food items come in a catering kit, and are they pre-made or DIY-style?
Each Taco Box Catering Kit comes with flour tortillas, corn tortilla chips, your choice of 2x proteins, shredded lettuce & cabbage, cheese, sauces and salsas. It's DIY Tacos from there!
Are plates, napkins, and serving utensils included, or do I need to bring my own?
Napkins and cutlery are included. We recommended supplying your own serving utensils.
Can I customise or mix-and-match items in a kit?
Absolutely. Our Taco Box kits are customised, with your choice of fillings and toppings. We also have a huge range of extra components that can be added to boost your builds.
Do you offer vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free catering options?
Yep - when choosing your proteins, hit Fajita Veggies or BBQ Jackfruit to go vegetarian (bear in mind we do not supply vegan cheese or sour cream but vegan Tacos can be built by skipping the dairy components).
To make a fully vegan or gluten free order, give your local Mexicali a call and they'll be happy to help customise your order further.
Can I choose a specific pickup or delivery time?
You sure can - just remember we require a minimum of 4 hours lead time before collection.
How is the food packaged to stay fresh during transport?
Our aluminium dishes maintain ideal temperatures of components for up to an hour. Our warm components are wrapped with tinfoil for extra insulation, and our cold components are wrapped in plastic film to keep ingredients fresh.
