Chipotle crema is smoky, tangy and spicy with just the right amount of kick.
It’s also super easy to make. All you need is a blender! Whip up some and keep it in the fridge. Our family use it for everything from dipping kumara fries to grilled cheese, and of course it’s the creamy condiment in our Longboard Burrito.
(Yield: 1 cup)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 Chipotle chilies from a can of Chipotles in Adobo
- 1 tsp Adobo sauce
- Juice of ½ freshly squeezed lime
- ¼ tsp Kosher salt
Place all ingredients in the blender. Whiz until smooth. Taste. If it’s not hot enough for you, stir in 1 tsp of red chili flakes to kick it up a notch. Pour into an airtight container, cover and store in refrigerator until ready to use.
